I have had a great experience with the cultural clubs here at AUS. I have personally been president of the Iranian Cultural Club for 2 years. I have gotten a lot of experience through this; learning about team work, learning about cultures, and being able to share your culture with other students. The thing is that when I was coming to AUS, I was a shy person. I couldn’t talk to other people. However, after I became familiar with the clubs here at AUS, I got over my shyness. Now, I can talk to people. I can engage and communicate easily. It was a very good experience, and I would recommend students to participate in any activities that happen at AUS.
The whole experience made a significant impact on me. Initially my friends forced me into participating, but once I got the hang of this clubs thing, no one needed to convince me further because I was looking forward to continuing the experience. I participated in Global Day too, because I believe it gives you the opportunity to represent the culture of your country well. I would urge students to participate in it.
