I just got done with my first semester. It didn’t go as well as I’d have wanted it to. I took part in a lot of activities and got distracted a bit. Also coming to an American university after studying from a British curriculum was bit different and difficult for me. I found it hard at first to figure out how the American system works, but after spending the first semester here I’ve got a clear idea of what to do and what not to do. I hope I can do better in my next semester now.
I was part of the Global Day performances, and the schedule got a bit too hectic for me; we’d have to stay back late sometimes and I think I lost track of things earlier on. I will still try to participate in the different activities around campus as long as I can manage it along with my grades. I think the new students should take some time to familiarize themselves with the university, figure out how things work and how to manage time, before committing to any big events and activities in the first semester.
